Mit hoved udstillet i Berlin

Gallery Singuhr - Hörgalerie in Parochial
Klosterstrasse 67

Opening: September 22, 6 - 8pm

Concert - double video work on three monitors: the first, finding people in spatial situations: sitting at a cafe table, waiting in line, walking through an open square, sitting in an open window, going up an escalator. The second and third videos translate the first: people listening to the sounds of the first video attempting to describe what they are hearing. The final work replaces sound-track with sound-poem, found sound with psychological image, urban environment with personal portrait, forming a play of place and its aural life.

"backstage" - working with the architecture of the gallery space and its two main archways, large wooden swinging doors are built and inserted, thereby filling the arches with flexible divisions and passageways. Loudspeakers are mounted at the far-ends of the space, amplifying recordings of crowds found "backstage". These are broadcast through local radio transmission within the space, and modulated by the movements of visitors and the constructed doors, making an instrument out of the space, not as acoustic-resonator, but body-locator as registered by "moving through the crowd".
